Space travel has been possible for some time and some people believe that space tourism could be developed in the future. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Space is a mystery and unexplored area for humankind. Numerous scientists and technicians devote their career to making space travel available for everyone. I believe that this is a terrific achievement. And here is several reason for it.

First, the technological advances brought by space exploration can be used in our daily life. For instance, a spaceship needs strong material for its shell and reliable computer chips for its control system. These technological achievements can enhance the quality of vehicles that we drive everyday and diminish the injuries and casualties in accidents. Moreover, the fact that there is zero gravity in space means scientists could conduct experiments that could not possible to do on earth. They could collect valuable data to use in the analysis and research. More specifically, a germ free environment found in space enable them to breed super seeds that significantly increase plant yield.

Second, space technology is crucial to solving the issue of human survival in the long term. The global population boom cause problems could threaten humankind, through resource shortages. Responding to fears that the earth oil and gas reserve could be depleted late this century, scientists have suggested that space mining could be an alternative solution to this shortage. Meanwhile, scientists are searching for a suitable planet for space immigration to alleviate population pressures here on earth.

In conclusion, space technology is beneficial in both micro and macro level for mankind. It can improve people’s life by enhancing the quality of products, and also provide a possible solution for globally resources shortage issues.
